Maybe I should have a look before I go to work instead afterwards...
Yeah, for sure partly it's languange related, looks sometimes I'm on a totally different wavelength, although I noticed when dutch DJ's says something the same seems to be the case. It's totally different interpretation of words.

My drunk detection probably is miserable, and the serious one could also use some improvements.

on topic; trance is for druggies

Good example, that doesn't fit at all in my say 17 years of trance listening. But then my view on what's trance also is different so again a different wavelength maybe.

Pft. Written reviews is so last decade. If I were to start doing that again, I'd go all Todd In The Shadows with it.

I was watching one of his concert videos at the Home Depot center, and he was constantly on the mic during his set saying things like "Hello LA! (or whatever city he is in) How's everything tonight? This night is proof that we made history, that dance music is the best thing in the world. And how does it feel, to be a part of history?"

I don't what he's up to but whatever. Just interesting to discuss.

Hahaha I was there. Funny thing is, several friends that aren't die hard EDM fans, like we are, went. First thing they told me the next day, very excited by the way... "WE ARE PART OF HISTORY!" I guess the marketing worked because for sure it didn't sell out, but it wasn't empty either.

Sad but true, there are generally no individuals here in the states, specifically San Jose, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or any other major city in certain the facet of EDM city cliques and fans, listeners, groups, or artists who even have the slightest potential interest of listening to Magik / ISOs sound. Most Americans are used to 3 minute instantaneous hook synths and verses that they lose the patience to listen to a full-on 7 minute epic anthem buildup. No wonder why Tiesto's first Kaleidoscope album was apparently 3-5 minute cut tracks.

That is very true and I'm guilty of it too. I have a residency at a mainstream club where I'm the EDM dj. To keep the people interested I have to edit all my EDM tracks, take all the fluffer out, and just leave the meat on the bones.

They're pretty much structured like this:
16 Bar Intros
Hook
Outro

@DjWoody

I would say fuck the mainstream. There should be events where our target crowd is not the masses. Our crowd should be disciplined and experienced listeners who have patience.

If there is anything that I have learned from listening to Trance, it would be patience. Because that's the key factor in listening to the full 10 minute tracks.

I don't know about you guys, but if you have ever partied with a smaller crowd with people who actually understood good music, are patient and disciplined, they tend to draw a pretty cool vibe. It's like we're all on a similar level of understanding and respect what is going on.

The rowdy listeners are okay, but all they really do is cheer really loud. There are pros about that though, it draws great attention and a party hard vibe. but most of these guys dont even understand the music haha. just my input.

There should be Trance concerts that have a sticker that say "FOR PATIENT LISTENERS ONLY" or something

That's true too. Point taken.

Sometimes the crowd that doesn't know WTF is going could be the fun ones because they don't know WTF is going on. haha

I will agree that trance music is immature and fueled by drugs.
