Advertising his concerts/raves with interest things such as "TIESTO WILL MAKE HISTORY, WITH HIS COLLEGE INVASION TOUR! JOIN US, AND YOU WILL BE A PART OF HISTORY TOO!"
I was watching one of his concert videos at the Home Depot center, and he was constantly on the mic during his set saying things like "Hello LA! (or whatever city he is in) How's everything tonight? This night is proof that we made history, that dance music is the best thing in the world. And how does it feel, to be a part of history?"
I don't what he's up to but whatever. Just interesting to discuss.

Hahaha I was there. Funny thing is, several friends that aren't die hard EDM fans, like we are, went. First thing they told me the next day, very excited by the way... "WE ARE PART OF HISTORY!" I guess the marketing worked because for sure it didn't sell out, but it wasn't empty either.

Most Americans are used to 3 minute instantaneous hook synths and verses that they lose the patience to listen to a full-on 7 minute epic anthem buildup. No wonder why Tiesto's first Kaleidoscope album was apparently 3-5 minute cut tracks. |
That is very true and I'm guilty of it too. I have a residency at a mainstream club where I'm the EDM dj. To keep the people interested I have to edit all my EDM tracks, take all the fluffer out, and just leave the meat on the bones.
They're pretty much structured like this:
16 Bar Intros
Hook
Outro
