There's nothing wrong with someone trying to help people learn how to produce at all, although posting here he should have been prepared for the haters.

But the price is pretty steep for someone who isn't a well known producer, or at least has some good releases under his belt. Point Blank Online offers better courses for cheaper (like $500 for 4 weeks) and has big name talent giving you one on one feedback.

You of all people should know that being signed by a label does not equate competency or quality.

How many bedroom DJs and producers that are amazing, will never be signed to a label? How many producers that are terrible, have been signed, or even have their own labels?

A signing does not a producer make.
oh i agree. But there is absolutely no way of knowing if mr darroo is next junkie xl or some clueless guy fiddling with knobs.

Having your stuff rellased is SOME way of establishing credibility, accurate or not

Agreed, and a lot of it has to do with which labels the releases are coming out on. Some labels will release anything with a kick drum, others are super committed to promoting a specific sound and level of quality.

Fact of the matter is if your stuff is genuinely put together well and the composition is interesting, shop it around and labels will want to release it.

+1

Ive been working through a few of these tutorials over the last few months. VERY helpful. I paid 30 or 40 $ for the tutorials, and in retrospect, it was worth every penny.

Good on ya for offering a teaching course. My best suggestion would be to create a youtube channel and just post tutorials there. You can establish some credibility, people will get a taste for your teaching style and things will pick up from there.

400$ is alot to cough up. Especially when there are 40$ options (see sonicacademy)

Yep, Sonic Academy has created some excellent hands-on, practical video tutorials (especially re: producing various genres in Live).

(No disrespect intended towards the OP )
