Do you think Charles Manson or Jeffrey Dahmer would have considered them evil?

Also, I make other people happier because they say they can trust me because of my fear of God.

This always boggles the mind. people fear god yet love him and worship him. Exactly like those wives that get beaten by their husbands all the time but they still live under the delusion that the guy who keeps beating them up actually loves them and cares for them. Because as we all know, nothing says more "I love you dear, happy anniversary" as a fist in the face and two in the ribs.

You make a good point here but I think you already said what I had to say. Another example is "I love my cousin with all my heart but hey, when he doesn't listen to me I beat his ass. He loves me too anyway."

Religion is really only responsible for furthering the consensus demonization of certain aspects of the human experience. The same biology which might conceive of religious institutions in the first place is probably far more laterally liable for the concept of "evil" however, as it is a composite of threats to the group dynamic on a very relative scale, often at enmity with the very cohesion and conservatism that religion finds its virulence within.

Evil exists so far as individualism exists; It is the revolution and the revel of liberation from survivalist admonishment to the social dynamic and the inevitable schism from natural forces that were in ancient times deified with the ignorance that blossomed from mysticism.

Killers (serial or otherwise) are indeed "evil" in this sense, but not because they represent some entity or malignancy inherent to them alone, but because their relative sickness is not crippling to the point of incapability. They were/are fully capable of culling their brethren -seemingly at will - but never without their own reason dominating them, socially disabling as it is. They are a threat to the supposed "innocence" every citizen of the meta-tribe is entitled to, because they demonstrate capability to bring about punishment and suffering to members without the consent of authority. This is a threat to government, and to Natural Law, and therefore a threat to the tribe.

We are bound by our biological development to judge our fellow man, most often at the behest of conditioned precepts of code and jurisprudence. To say that "evil" is subjective probably goes without saying, but in general it is associated with the swindlers and the liars, the cheats and the dismemberment committees that wave their icy directives before subjects convinced that their group is more right than the next one.

The better question is: Is there more Evil in the world now than ever?
