I've always wondered how much money hospitals spend on soap every year.

Infection control in general I'm sure is a large portion of their budget.

Not that, just that on television the doctors use a brand new bar of soap each time they scrub in and discard it immediately after. It does seem a bit overboard considering they put sterile latex gloves on after washing anyways.

Lol, television. They use soap dispensers with liquid soap.

Yeah I actually just looked up a youtube video on the proper surgical hand scrub. The package isn't a bar of soap it's a scrub brush with some kind of iodine solution in it.
