INK Entertainment Unveils Two New Rooms At The Guvernment
Toronto’s premier clubbing destination keeps the party fresh as it launches innovative concept spaces
Toronto, ON (January 23, 2012) – The country’s leading nightlife innovator, INK Entertainment, is bringing The Guvernment, Toronto’s landmark entertainment complex, into the next generation of modern culture with two new concept rooms: CHROMA and Surface. Known for seamlessly fusing design, art and entertainment, INK has enlisted the imaginative mind of master production artist and designer, Kenny Alvin Baird to transform the space into a destination that will continue to attract the city’s social hedonists, as it embarks on a renaissance of the already world-renowned Guvernment brand.
With a career that includes design projects for The Standard Hotel in Hollywood, Area Nightclub in New York City, Madonna and The Rolling Stones, Baird is bringing his avant-garde approach to The Guvernment’s latest concept rooms.
With a 600-person capacity, CHROMA aims to indulge the senses and is dubbed a “DiscoTech” in every sense of the word. Formerly known as the Orange Room this 3,000 square foot departure to a virtual world features tech-inspired design with its futuristic DJ booth, booming sound, LED screens and repertoire of multi-media images, designed to captivate and envelop guests simultaneously. With two functioning bars, bottle service areas and state-of-the-art audio/visual enhancements, the new concept will be a welcome addition to The Guvernment’s club mosaic. “CHROMA’s ethos is a funky fusion of Blade Runner and Tron,” says Baird. “It will attract a young fresh demo of nightlife revelers who are style, tech and social media savvy. CHROMA is tapped into the pulse of cool.”
Located on the second floor of The Guvernment, Surface is the essence of urban-chic. Formerly known as The Drink, Surface is approximately 3,000 square feet and encompasses raised VIP bottle service areas and three bars. Finished in gold and black metallic touches, the sexy hideaway will feature a weekly rotating roster of Toronto’s top DJ’s.
“As with every INK venue, The Guvernment is ever-evolving in order to create a tapestry of atmosphere and experiences,” says INK CEO and nightlife innovator, Charles Khabouth. “With CHROMA and Surface’s slick and innovative designs, we are pushing Toronto’s music and nightlife scene to its next limit.”
Surface launches February 4th, 2012. CHROMA will celebrate its grand opening with its new resident DJ, Mike Toast on February 11th, 2012 while internationally acclaimed DJ Gabriel Andresden with Matzo will spin in the Main Room, alongside Mark Oliver. Both rooms are available for corporate events. |
