I've seen Christopher Lawrence speak out in interviews about how the trance scene has gone downhill and the pr thing they did for his label Pharmacy is priceless when it says “You’ll never be embarrassed to admit that you like our trance”.
lmao off when I read that. best motto ever.

Mostly banging stuff. I saw him on NYE playing at Godskitchen and the first half of his set was pretty much thumping techno, which was quite a ballsy move in front of a main room trance crowd, but everyone loved it. I really couldn't be more specific though, I rarely ID tunes at the best of times and particularly not techno.

He did the same thing here in Toronto for the beginning of his set. It really was pretty awesome

Really doubt he will succeed but would be nice if he does.
I enjoy the current type of trance that is being played and the other styles which are being incorporated but something new and more in tune with its origins would be welcome.
Though I do wonder if the actual hypnotic nature of the original trance was simply because everyone was incredibly high on pills.
Anyway I hope he tries to innovate his sound and not say in the past and act like a dinosaur.

I live in London, ten years ago the city was packed with underground Trance nights, I could go clubbing from Friday all the way to Monday none stop. I used to see Flemming every Sunday at Sunnyside up.
There's hardly anything here now. Lucky to get a good Trance night once a month. Ministry of sound is a joke.
I'll get critized to fuck for saying this but you can blame The Gallery for that.
7-8 years ago when all the small underground nights were thriving, the Gallery (then at Turnmills), starting signing all their DJs to exclusive contracts which meant that they could not play for any other nights in London. This then ended up with all the nights closing down because they couldn't get any big name headliners to play with the smaller names at the time.
Great business but single handedly destroyed the London Trance scene.

Yeah I go gallery@ MOS every now and then depending on who's playing. I'm too young for turnmills but from what ive been told the general atmosphere was better.
a lot good acts play at MOS but also some terrible ones and often non complimenting djs get matched up.
I have to say I enjoy most times i've been but it does seem to run by dicks, apparently the djs get paid a tiny amount as well.
I'm always on the look out for trance events in london but MOS seems to be the only place :S

The state of the world is what has made trance so stale, once we stop being so depressed over not having money and not giving a shit about wars and start enjoying the sunset/sunrise again..thats when trance will return.

Am I really the first person to point out juno reactor are a psy trance project/band not a euro trance one(in regards to his reference to the matrix).
