Gladiator2 is perfect for pads. Very easy to use and offers tons of unique pad creating possibilities which other synths can't offer or require tweaking knobs for an hour
Gladiator is perfect for this kind of stuff
ElectraX on the other hand is a different tool - good for leads. I like that it's pretty low cpu consuming - with 3 osc and 4 layers you can do some really huge sounds.
