People are forgetting it's Ink or just being plain stupid. They aren't in the game to revolutionize the club scene and "keep things real". It's a corporation spread into many different areas of entertainment all with the common focus of making money. You're revenue as a club these days comes from cover, drinks, and bottle service/booths. Ink does a great job at milking all 3 with Cube and it's exactly what anyone with a brain would've expected. The only variables for me were whether it would have good sound (it does) and whether they'll book proper DJs or go 100% top 40 (looks like proper DJs so far). Absolutely agree this city is in desperate need of some clubs that keep it simple and target people who actually go for the music but anyone who expected it with Cube is an idiot.

I may sound jaded, but the current state of the electronic music club scene in Toronto is far from inspiring. A city that once had a steady stream of world class talent performing every weekend, now goes months at a time without a quality booking so on the occasion when something happens to shake things up it grabs my attention.
