I've gone through periods where I was very jaded about (editor's addition: "everything") music, and so went without it until the time felt right. There's nothing wrong with that. Certain seasons of the year or certain smells or events will remind me that I ought to listen to this or that anymore, though. Music is very much about association, and if the only association you apply to it is listening to the same thing over and over again, your mind is definitely going to take a shit on you, because you've stopped using it. It's how people reach such laughable platitudes like "the only good music is from the past" and "nobody makes good music anymore".
No shit you cannot enjoy new things. All you want to hear are the old things regurgitated to you, listlessly. It's the very prevalent root of all conservative thought, political and otherwise. Nothing good or innovative shall ever develop from it, and you know what? That is fine. Just shut the fuck up about it, because nobody is going to come save you.
