Labels don't make music. Musicians do. I mean why don't you just have a link in your Facebook page to PayPal checkout to buy your track, and
automate the sending of MP3s. Not that I do this, but it's what I would do if I wanted to charge for music. It's better than giving half the $ to Apple/Beatport. |
Labels can get you noticed by sites like Beatport though, and lots of people buy music, or at the very least find it there. Like, my first EP got featured in Beatport's new releases and the track Undiscovered on my last EP was a "Must Hear Electro House" track. That wouldn't have happened if I released independently.
