Hmm, thanks for the tip. Will check that out.

I've been meaning to check that Shed today. Did you like the album before this one as well? Trying to see where your tastes lie.

Very rarely a derivative work goes down in history, let alone from the scene as small and constrained as this one. I don't even think their first two albums went down in history, except (dub) techno one. It's like a sludge metal masterpiece for example - music world won't suffer any kind of impact from it, no matter how good the record actually is.

And yeah, I liked both of his previous albums. Same thing with Echospace as well. I actually think that they are, together with The Black Dog, most consistently good techno producers these days. But I have no illusions of their (recent - in the case of TBD) work having any kind of historical value.

Yea historical is a subjective term. Its relative to when/where you are standing.

I don't know, I think the new Shed is not as good as his first two either. Same with Echospace. I mean they're still quite good and all and have their own sound but I don't think they'll quite reach the stone cold classic status of their previous records. Though as always, time will tell. And I would add 2562/A Made Up Sound to your list. The guy is completely idiosyncratic and constantly pushing where nobody else is going.

I dont find this to be derivative at all btw. I've been listening to it full tilt since last week. Car, at home, non stop.

Name me one dub tech album that sounds like this at a fundamental level.

Maybe MAYBE hashbar loops but otherwise this is ground breaking.

Derivative, as in derived from Liumin. Technically, it's the other way around, but chronologically Liumin was published first, so the phrase is not that much out of place.

Oh I see what you mean. Yea obvious influence from Liumin. I meant the overall sound, specifically I think "Rippling" and "Hydrodynamics" are unique.

Free Deepchord track, not included on the upcoming album. Holy fuck this sounds good. If the rest of the record sounds like this I might even like it better than Silent World.

According to Boomkat, Deepchord - Sommer is out now.

There's also a vinyl only, picture disk release coming a bit later after the album release.
