Yeah, it's fun to troll popularity contests, but the DJ Mag Poll is big business, and isn't going to be deterred by disgruntled former subscribers (they sure as hell weren't when people were complaining about Tiesto's 3-year reign). If you're looking to 'retake DJing credibility' (or whatever), it'll be a grass-roots thing, a proper underground movement that doesn't draw attention to itself.
RA's annual poll sort of has the right idea, in that you don't see nearly the same amount of promotion going into that one, and as a result tends to have more respectable results (though they're beginning to tread ever-so close to the edge with that). |
Well while you're entitled to your opinion, I have to disagree. And I should add that a significant number of people would also disagree with you - 500 unique page views in about 6 hours, and starting to spread on twitter.
If credibility is shaken significantly through this, they'll need to do something, and if they happen to change it for the better, happy days. Has to be better than sitting in front of your screen pontificating.
