if you have seen so much djs and you don't like djs anymore it seems you have a castle size faith or you pee money because i'd not spend so much time seeing something i don't like and i'd not ever like it.
Additionally from the list i know very few names so i guess a lot of them are local based djs , can't judge but if i consider my common clubbing nights in my hometown then i could list like 50 djs that would prove that the art of djing is dead. I don't know what is worse, to have a human jukebox playing matched tracks with a laptop or to have someone struggling to match the beats with cds...

Looking forward to an extended Danny Howells set right around Thanksgiving! |
on true edm clubs you can find great talent, Digweed,Sasha ,Danny Howells or a good dj in short, may be consistent but djs playing on edm clubs are there for a reason, it's not like the kind of mainstream big club where Pauly D plays once a year headlining an event. In this clubs is all about contacts because the crowd is 100% ineducated and if you tell them "this dj is amazing" they'll be thinking the same after a flat track selection and ear piercing mixing.

More guys are average than not (i'm talking guest djs...some locals can be great depending on where you are from, but they are not the norm.). If you know who to go see though, the art of djing is not dead. There has been a vinyl rebirth (it never truly died) in certain circles, and it is quite wonderful. Classic records galore, mixed with new material . See shit Djs, expect shit sets. That list was full of obscure nobodies to say the least. Vancouver has always had a shit scene anyway. |
You really are a fucking spastic Jay.
I said in most cases. I said there were still DJs who can deliver, but by enlarge they suck.
In answer to your question among local DJs I have seen in the past 12-18 months are:
Digweed, Pryda, Sasha, Zabiela (twice), Cokenfold, Matt Deary, Joris Voorn, Martin Buttrich, Jeremy Olander. Oh some truly shit hardcore DJs too, dreadful.
The only one I found interesting was Olander. He was awesome.
Now you'll no doubt say they are too big or too old or whatever.
I still stand by my original statement 95% of times no DJ is needed. When you want to put on your 150 capacity venue into swing you can dust off your diva step records and people will come because they are your friends. But they don't care for your music. You are not reading the crowd, nor are you telling a story. In all honesty if you simply stuck your soundcloud on and fucked off to do lines of Ket no one would notice or care.
Like I said everyone wins.

i agree, you've got gigs. i hate to mean, but i would be embarrassed to talk about djing if i put out a mix as poor as your last one. I listened because there were some good tracks, but the basic lack of skills regarding levels and just all around mixing was cringe worthy. Stop talking, start practicing. |
Who are you talking to?
I've put out 2 sets in my life on this site, both over 5 years ago.
One of which had all TA talent on. You have never heard a set of mine.

Well you've been given a list by both Iskur and you said they were no-namers, my list is too DJmag top 100 for you, excluding your Valium and Housewife sessions, what do you suggest?
The fart was probably your beatport tab playing your cart selection.
