First, (@ faceplant)Pure Trance and Armin are on different nights so the argument comparing the two makes not sense.
Second, (@ ucforange) I'm surprised you're getting so upset about mmalik427's post when you and other TAers on this thread have posted some pretty stereotypical comments about the people who attend Story, and Armin attendee's in general. I've actually talked to you in person and you say some pretty shitty stuff about people who don't like tech music as well. It's kind of funny seeing you get all upset and start saying "Let's stop the division between the electronic music community" when you were just contributing to it.
Third, I've been to show a lot of different venues in Miami and different crowds; the bottom line is a dark night club with loud music and 75% of the crowd is either drunk/high/rolling isn't really a place to meet or talk to people period! So getting mad at high rollers and the like is silly b/c even "pure trance" parties have assholes. And isn't all suppose to be about the music, not the people? I respect the fact that you dislike Armin but putting down people who do isn't cool. |
I have no idea who you are but I guess it's possible I've met you. Yes, I tend to say some shit, particularly when I'm intoxicated, but usually it's just for laughs and a reaction. I like clubs like Story given the right DJ.
And shit, if I had the money, I'd party like a high-roller too, I'm definitely not hating on that type of thing. How about this...I like to scalp a few tickets during WMC to offset some of the costs. There it is. If that makes me a "bad music fan" then so be it. If you are offended by this, I don't know what to tell you.
And yeah, WMC events actually are a great place to meet people. I've met some great people from these events. You don't have to be in the middle of the dance floor the whole night with a bunch of messed up fans...there are places to mingle and exchange good conversation.
