cosmic gate made fire wire, scot project only mixed it... still, i think cosmic gate, warp bros and jk walker were at the top for hard trance at the time.

and i think overdrive (O) is a belter of a tune... used to love the original mix with the ultra-cheesy uplifting melody, but later i converted to the arome mix with the punishing acid section replacing the 'chav' melody... ten times better than his original offering. total bad ass. more attitude, less fluff.

Maybe not the term, but the music itself did.

Ex. Lionrock - Packet of peace (the dust brothers remix)

No offense but they were kinda cheesy compared to Scot Project's legit melodies. I cant lie though - Human Nature was one of my favorite tracks as a teen.

None of them rivaled the success Scot Project had at his peak in 2004.

Nothing would entertain me more than watching you try and point out any logical fallacies of mine. The last time you did it was probably the fastest Internet capitulation I've ever seen.

I liked a few Scot Project tracks when I liked hard trance (IE: when I was 15)... Overdrive, Future Is Now, whichever one he did that ripped off Flight 643, and his remix of Meteor Seven's Universal Music. But his album came out in 2005 and the shtick had got really old by then, so an entire album full of silly spoken vocals and momentum crushing breakdowns was just too much. My "hatred" of him is more just mockery of your apparent belief that he invented Western civilisation as we know it, and the fact you still talk highly of his immensely silly music even though you're well into your 30s.

I loved his melodies and breakowns. Those breakdowns for Overdrive and FM1 were the best stuff I've heard.

i thought cosmic gate made fire wire which was the sound scot project copied for the rest of his short career. also organ donors was earlier but those ended up as plain hard house, while scot project went hardstyle. yeah uk hard house had more influence than you would like to admit, even though it mostly sucked, which was earlier than scot project. i dont know where scot is from though, probably belgium which means he grew up with thunderdome, terrordome etc which is basically identical production techniques only faster and more stupid.

Tracks like that were definitely laying the groundwork, but it was labels like Wall Of Sound that took the concept and ran with it a couple years later, properly differentiating big beat from the regular breakbeat pantheon.

And i wouldn't call that a track anyone remembers or cared about. Being the first to do something is kinda pointless if nobody knows about it or cared and you never influenced anyone.

I bought this compilation in 1994:

Alien Factory were pioneers of Hard Trance as Komakino as many others of that time. The biggest Hard Trance pioneer to me personally is Franky Jones by the way (The First Rebirth).
You really can't say this isn't Hard Trance almost 20 years later, I guess I don't have to explain how strange that sounds to me:

You make no sense. You call the original a belter and then you label it cheesy and fluffy. Then you dickride the flip side in the process by saying it's a lot better. Please be consistent.
