You can't compare a three day camp festival like this one will be to Burning Man.

Given the music, Camp is probably closest in terms of crowd feel (esp. when Skrillex did it), but really any festi, Forrest, Camp, All Good, Bonaroo (other than size...), Vibes, B.U., B.T., Chill just to name some, is comparable to what this will most likely be like

Burning Man, otoh, is a totally different ball game.
--It's not a music festival (it's an event at which many great musicians show up sure...)
--it attracts a much more heterogeneous crowd (kids to 70 somethings)
--logistics that make any other festival look like a picnic in the park.

Not really sacred grounds anymore. They have since built a massive ampatheater and have many questionable performances there.

Anyone who's been there will tell you that the Bethel Woods facility is one of the nicest in the East Coast.
I have never heard any complaints of this nature from other Deadheads, let alone those that went back when.

The original Woodstock was intended as a for-profit venture, didn't work out that way initially, but did ok eventually thanks to movie.
And it was merched afterwards too.

Bill Graham was in it for money too.

If Phil and Bob, and some of the other musicians that played in 69 are ok with this by playing there today (saw 'em 7/12 there), I think we can be too.

If you look at the line-up from the '94 event, which was in conjunction with the original promoters and some original musicians, you could call that questionable, maybe, but things change, so does the music, and i won't complain about it.

After all, the original line-up was heterogeneous too, reflecting MOST of the type of music that was being made back then, not just acid-rock to pick out one.

I just came from there last weekend and its absolutely beautiful and that worries me with all the yolos that are gonna come through and destroy this property.

P.s. Mysterland will be there also......

Mysteryland will be at Bethel, EDC is supposed to be at the 1994 site 90min away

Dude just look up the performance history. They got events going off all the time from no name country acts to Kelly Clarkson to Kid Rock. Not exactly Jimmy Hendrix level bro. Also, Bob Dylan sucks and he's always sucked.

Anyway, the sacred ground talk is a little silly IMO. It was a bunch of people getting high in a field to what everyone thought was cutting edge music. Not too far off from EDC/Mysteryland...although I think at this point Mysteryland seems like the better fit.
