This will convince you to buy a PS2.. for sure.
PS2.. defintely and always SONY is at the top of the market.
I will post out most specific and important neccessities for both XBOX and the PS2.
PS2
Controller: Comfortable, Compatible, Easy to use with excellent functions. Inexpensive, DUAL SHOCK, and as well ANALOG for driving. This controller also supports the 4 SOCKETED so other's can interact as well. The controller is also easy to use for all ages, good handling and almost a perfect controller close to the GC.
XBOX
Controller: Large, Compatible, up to four controllers, Difficult to use for children because of the large area, not comfortable, too many buttons for functions, and too complex for young's. Expensive, no DUAL SHOCK, too many ANALOG's for who knows. Plain CRAP. The gel XBOX button's, after playing like a year of it, the button's are a PIECE OF CRAP. They stick, and it's quite hard to press on those plasticy, gelled buttons which makes it the most annoying thing in the world.
Sure the buttons make it realistic, but it's the fun, not the realism.
PS2
Games: Wide variety of games to keep PS2 customers busy. Producers of SONY are releasing games week after week making PS2 a diverse system able to function so many different games. Shitty games? I wouldn't think so, if you actually played the WHOLE game, maybe finsihing the
game would actually have a twist to it. PS2 delivers excellent games from Role Playing Games, Fighting, Action, Racing and as well Sports and platform. Sure XBOX has better sports games then PS2, but it's just sports while PS2 has the bigger edge on variety. PS2 also supports regular PSONE games, so previous PSONE owners can enjoy their games played on a much more powerful system and even ENHACING graphics from PSONE. PS2 supports ONLINE but XBOX as well. Why not enjoy the CLASSIC's such as Final Fantasy XII, GT1, GT2, and as well other titles played on the PS2. XBOX games are WAY, WAY, WAYYY!! to expensive, and some of the title's get boring in minutes, seconds, the XBOX just has "commercial" and non unique games that make it almost BORING for a true gamer to handle.

PS2
Hardware: Sure there is alot of add-ons for PS2, but honestly, does it cost as much as XBOX does? XBOX delivers too many peripherals out for consumers to buy that they are too confused to buy. PS2 on the other hand delivers simple-important devices that is essential and actually WORTH buying for. XBOX has "computer upgrades", wow COMPUTER UPGRADES, the more, the more expensive, the more you buy, the more you waste. XBOX literatly has too much features that it just makes the system crap. And to play online? There's a fee, yes, a monthly fee. While PS2 online only needs the SERVER and PORTS and a CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET. and Voila!! You're online playing with your friends.
PS2
Graphics: Amazing, the CG Render Effects and as well the CG cut movie/scenes makes the games fantastic. Okay, so what? XBOX graphics are better? How so? Render? All it basically is XBOX is rendering the games to have smoother graphics. But honestly, every XBOX game has the same smooth graphics that it seems like your "characters" are plastic men.. it's impossible to withstand.. really. XBOX's CG scenes are nothing compared to the PS2. Graphics is an important factor when playing a game, however, the game itself is much more important therefore PS2 has the better edge. Sometimes such as on HALO, when there is too much shit going on, on the battle field it becomes LAGGY, and so DAMN CHOPPY, holy christ it's annoying. If XBOX can't support those graphics, WHY THE HELL USE THEM! Playstation 2 graphics are unbelievable, as well for the acting scenes, renders, and images make it almost you're the character of the game.
XBOX is also releasing XBOX2.. yes, in a couple of years or so. Who the hell wants to buy another XBOX2? When you waste all of your money on upgrading this stupid machine. PS3, coming out 2005-2006, which has already been released for 2 years now is always coming out will new titles to keep you busy.
In conclusion, XBOX is a piece of SHIT.
Trust me, once you get you're hands on a PS2, you'll thank me for not buying that filth.

PS2 is a top nocker notcher that will rock you're house good bye!
To sum it all up:
XBOX: For teen's, and nothing but teen's, XBOX is only for interaction between 4 players. It's like a NINTENDO 64 but only with better graphics.
PS2: Not as much interaction, but the games, and game-play, online-play, and as well other features make PS2 almost priceless.
If you don't buy a PS2, seriously, you have problems.
