That purpose is to fear G-d and observe His commandments, as King Solomon once said. G-d took the Jewish nation out of Egypt, out of bondage, to accept upon themselves the Torah, which is the very purpose of our lives. And I don't "use" it to merely bring purpose to my life, I live a religious life because it makes my life much better, bringing me joy, fulfilment and peace, among many other good things.

There's uncertainty in religious life too - I have no idea of the day of my death or how I will die, or if I'm always going to have enough money to pay rent and put food on the table. That's not why I chose a religious life.

Listen, just because some rabbi took you in after your iboga meltdown it does not mean you have some divine wisdom by following rules one through six hundred in your pocket-Jew hand guide

Off topic, but I was just thinking today about whether or not Kevin (The17sss) continued to lean into conservative politics and is a dedicated Trump supporter. I would like to think he's well reasoned enough to have seen how he is a disgusting con man and either chose to not vote or vote blue. Does anyone know?

To continue off topic conversations, I spoke to my mom the other day who has been a life long republican. I asked her who she was voting for. She proudly admitted: TRUMP! and then ranted off on illegal aliens. It always boggles my brain as to how people can't open their minds enough to see who this person really is.

I've read articles on how people can completely let go of friends and family due to politics and never thought I'd react in a similar fashion. But after our conversation, I thought to myself, I could probably cut my mom off. I love her so much but the way she sounded was exactly how all the crazy people you see on Reddit threads. Like, there was no changing her mind.

Back to the topic at hand: Covid and jesus.

I would never cut off a family member because of their political beliefs, so I would really recommend against it. Of course the situation here isn't as inflamed, but I can't really imagine myself asking my mom who they voted for unless we were on the brink of civil war and I was ready to kill her based on her answer or something. No one ever really discusses politics during family gatherings. We don't ask other people for whom or which party they voted for, and most people wouldn't tell you anyway. A relatively recent civil war will do that to a nation. It feels like the US really needs some sort of a wake-up call, because the situation seems unbelievably divided.
