To say that Paul van Dyk is a "German DJ" is a little misleading.
Technically it's correct, but he doesn't represent German Trance. And don't explain the high BPM by associating him with Germany, because there's little or no association. (in my view - in fact, even his last name betrays non-German roots.)

He's German, but his style is completely different. More British people talk about him than German people.
