when i first tried it out...i didnt likeit what so ever some features they took out from 98 ...overall it might be more stable and crashes less....for a beginner it might be good...but for me i didnt like it what so ever.... it look like they took some features out of 98 and made it little bit easier to use...but i like 98 or ME over 2000 any day

win2k for a beginner? naw...quite the opposite my friend. win2k is more advanced in my opinion. it's for business and servers. 98/ME is home use. i guess that's why you like the interface and feel of 98/ME more.

I have Mandrake 6.1 and Win98 at home.
I still dont understand either intimately but I can bumble through windows ok and fiddle on linux, though my dad is a software engineer so I call him at 4 am when it breaks

its just your machine that does it i didnt have problems going to ME from 98....... but it can mess up your registry....but you have programs that fix the registry for you like Norton or Fix it
