just because you yell and cuss and swear and call armin's work commercial crap, is NOT GOING TO CHANGE MY OPINION about him. he's still going to be #1 in my book and yet another day is still in my top 10 favorite tunes of 2002.

that's exactly what i hate about this forum - some people think what they listen to is so cool, that they try to force their opinion onto others.

besides, according to tiestointhemix a pro tranceaddict is not afraid to play and listen all kinds of electronica but shuns every form of cheese.. kind of paradoxical, isn't it? moreover, i'm very picky about the tracks i like, but these tracks cover all sorts of music styles. but, says tiestointhemix, i definitely haven't reached the supertranceaddict level yet, because a supertranceaddict likes nearly every tune that comes out!
this is just pathetic and ridiculous. let us forget about every category and listen to whatever we like..

i'm afraid the sense of sarcasm is about to become extinct in this world and become replaced by narrow-mindedness. that "categorization" was a simple joke, just to make people realize how naive and hypocritical they are. no one can ever be completely categorized into one or many categories, because people's tastes are simply unique. what i was saying is just a diagnosis of the problem - STOP DISSING PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THEIR TASTES! stop forcing your opinions onto others! why are you trying to change the world?

people are JUMPING BANDWAGONS everyday. sure, maybe tiesto spins same techno tracks and trainwrecks transition after transition, but i will NEVER say he sucks and hate him, because i respect his work before that. same with oakey. it's the tipping point effect - you have enough people to say some dj rocks, everyone else starts believing that. when enough people start hating that dj, most start hating him/her too.

the problem is the lack of confidence, the fear of being flamed for what you like. so WHAT? it's just a forum. even IRL, someone says the music you listen to is shit - what makes THEM so cool? yes, i like atb, now what? someone is gonna insult me, i might probably counter-insult them. but then when i'll say i like yves deryuter and filterheadz, that same person will praise me. by saying that all trance is commercial piece of shit, you're stereotyping. just like racism. sexism. homophobia. maybe not so severe, but close. YOU CAN'T ARGUE ABOUT TASTES! each and every single of us is unique, and, trust me, you are not better than anyone else just because you listen to a particular genre of music.

my $0.02

Armin can be as commercial as God wants, it won't change my opinion about his music while I love what he plays during his show...

He roxxxx, that's the most important for me.

I'd agree that his RADIO SHOW is becoming pretty commercial. There's been lots of pretty horrible tunes in the past few months. Armin LIVE is a completely different story, though there were still a few of the gated strings/rave organs represented at his show at Spundae Chicago.

I think that its important for us all to stop being so elitist and realize that something being comercial doesnt necesearly mean its bad or cheese.

Hey... I do listen to progressive as much as trance music. I love diggers & sasha as much as tiesto and pvd. But saying that avb is commercial music, this really, as I said before, puts me off. I am not a narrow minded person, if not I wouldn't have accepted listening to kiss fm sets [which I think it's an awesome show]. and...........
That is why I LOVE progressive [because of the beautiful sound, you know what I mean... dj'z such as sander or steve or dj stef animates me a lot]. It's also a matter of being respectable to someones work. I think he has done a lot more work than some other progressive dj'z, but I still love both styles. and in case you ask, at the same lvl.
-=[My Preferences]=-
[Progressive Style]
01. John Digweed
02. Sasha
03. Steve Lawler [I haven't listen to him for a while].
04. Dj Stef [for his AWESOME Radio 538 Set-isn't he spinning Prog. Trance ?]
05. Moshic & Zidan

[Trance Style]
01. Armin Van Buuren
02. Ferry Corsten
03. Dj Tiesto
04. Paul Van Dyk
05. Blank & Jones

Haha...all these commerical shit again....

Damn I just cannot figure how all these people come up with their biased judgements on the commericalized DJ. As if you know how to come up with any production at all....

Listen without prejudice....progressive and trance are just an imaginary boundary line...like pop and jazz....live with it....more variances = world more colourful

Armin strives to make it to the top.....you who disses him better be more successful in other people's eyes or you'll end up 10 years later a laughing stock....

BTW, Oakie is just as good as any other commerical DJ, BBC Radio UK is commerical as airwaves of electronic music is broadcasted weekly worldwide....more listeners = more exposure = more bookings/CDs/recording deals= more money = more fame.....same as how Britney blah blah and the whole crew down at Hollywood earn their commericalized crap dough.....

Don't like it, go live on the Moon...create your own dynasty and start a non-commerical community all by yourself...underground enough, you decide....

In all fairness, I took a 34th listen to Yet Another Day and I must say that this tune is really crappy....other than that...Armin's had a good year....ranked in the top 10...youngest non-UK DJ there....

Nuff said,
JKX
