I listen to both rap/hiphop/RnB and trance as my favorite genres and i have a massive subwoofer system in my car. I can tell you that trance usually always has more bass and it also sounds ALOT cleaner. When i swith from listening to hiphop to trance i would have to lower my bass. In HipHop most of the songs bass less smooth... some hiphop songs like any Nelly song has alot of bass but nothing compared to some trance songs like.....

Mellow Trax - Outa Space

Out of all the years i have listened to trance the one song i would recognize as a the most hard pounding bass is Mellow Trax - Outa Space. If you sit in the back of my seat it is like a massage chair. (as my friends have explained it)
