So right away that gave them a bad impression about the place. That and the lasers in the club experienced problems and shut down early into the night , so half the people that got inside much later didn't even get a chance to experience that effect.

NYE was my first time at Viva... and I didn't even know any TA's at the time. Still, I think most people in that position would be smart enough to understand that it was overpacked simply because it was NYE, and also I would assume that some of the electrical problems they had might have been due to the enormous amount of heat being pumped into that tent. Maybe that's not correct, maybe Viva really did just fuck up, but even if that's the case, nobody's perfect.
What if you'd never seen PVD spin before, and he somehow messed up a track when you went to see him, would you storm out of the place and never see PVD again? I don't think so.
Don't see the forest through the trees, that's what I've been told... don't stare at the crackheads, don't sit there waiting for the lasers to come back, take a step back for once and see the most important things - the music, and the vibe. I met a group of totally great non-TAs on the way there, and if a random handful of people were worth partying with, then it's fair to say that the Viva crowd is in general.
I still say Viva rules. Yes, I'm sure the place could use some work, but look, Viva actually LISTENS to what people have to say about them! Isn't that the most important thing? Guvernment doesn't really seem to give a crap, everybody I know says the place is way too packed, but they continue to cram it.
Anyway, I'm tired... maybe I'm not thinking coherently. But man, Viva is addictive. I've only been there twice and I already can't wait to go back.
