Sheesh, I don't think anyone was trying to start a war here. Look:
1) I'm not a prog head at all, I listen to trance more than any other music (I was there on Feb 1, dude), I just happen to love Hybrid and I thought they did an excellent set that night.
2) I wasn't for a minute trying to say that Bond didn't do a solid set. How could I say that? I wasn't even there.
3) You're absolutely right Halo, prog heads shouldn't go to a trance set and complain about it. But honestly with a name like "trancegeek" (don't know about brunette) it's hard to believe that these people are prog heads. Maybe some of us aren't really sure whether or not we'll like a certain DJ's style until we actually see and hear them live... are we not allowed to express those feelings after the party? Isn't that what a review is for?
4) As stated, I was not at Bond either, but I hardly think you (who was not there, as implied by your quote) have any right to be bashing people who were there. This is a review thread, and they gave their reviews, they're entitled to give negative reviews as well as positive reviews.
5) What's with the cursing and personal insults?

And to MissQ: Hybrid isn't progressive. Dunno what that post was all about.

I don't even like progressive, but for some reason I feel like I was included in your insult. This whole argument is total nonsense, people have a right to be disappointed, even if other people were amazed!

You just did start that war.

Opinions are warrented, yes.

BUT not based on principles that they expected something which was NOT going to happen.

IE: Me going to see a Horror movie and expecting romance. And then saying it was garbage. You see?

Care to find the quote where anyone said they were expecting progressive music?

As for my credibility, you're entitled to your opinion, but I was AT Hybrid and even though it was a little less trancey than their production material, their main focus is the breakbeats (which to me, has nothing to do with progressive - do you understand what the word "progressive" means?)

Oops, my bad. I assumed Hybrid played strictly prog.

I have no idea idea what breakbeat is, however it sounds much more energetic than progressive.

Brunette...Scott Bond, what the fuck were you expecting?

I'll take Nat and Ilia's (sp?) word that he played a solid set. Cheers.

How am I giving You -- and all the rest of prog heads on this board -- a bad name?? If anything, I am thankful to all those here who promoted progressive 'cause that was what made me switch. I saw Bond twice before and wasn't expecting him to spin anything other then trance. What I said was that I realized from this party that I just don't enjoy it anymore. I wasn't starting any wars, arguments or anything remotely close to that. And sure didn't expect someone who enjoys progressive to flame me for it.

PS And it's not should of, but should have.. and, yes, we should have went to System after all.

Miss Q, Hybrid is known for being diverse in all genres. Yes they play breaks, but to a breaks purist they are the furthest thing from that.

Hybrid (to anyone who knows what the fuck they are talking about) plays progressive. HOWEVER, this is a Scott Bond review. So lets please keep it to that.

Halo, you're unbelievable. I cannot understand why you are so rude to people who are only defending their beliefs and trying to be as polite as they can to you.

Evidently you'd rather flame people publicly on the board instead of responding to PMs, also. Suit yourself, I'll make sure to steer clear of you at the next party, because I've gotten a little tired of this junior-high put-people-down-to-feel-better-about-yourself attitude.

I think that every DJ (and every TA) has something to offer the scene and I will defend them as long as I am on this board. If people want me to stop posting because of that, then just say the word.

You people trippin' out large...

And for the record, Hybrid is more about breaks than progressive...
