Did anyone else get a cold after last Saturday? I know a few of you I spoke to did, and so did a lot of people on inthemix ... strange...

I noticed that he wasn't as animated as he was last week, he was still getting into it, but wasn't dancing around as much this time....

hrm, yeah same with me, didn't help that I had to come back to canberra, and work from 7pm - 7am sunday night after getting home at 1pm and a couple of hours sleep. Having the next 2 nights on as well and uni during the day probably contributed to it too I guess. I hope it's not anything like meninga cochal or something, cause that would truly suck just a tad.

An ITM friend of mine was up there for Armin, (I got a call when Universal Nation was being played, so if you remember screaming during that song, that was her )

PK do u hate me even more after all those calls i made to let u listen to the music?? hehe.......ah, u were sorely missed........

Oh looky here what do I spy?? Some freshly signed vinyl covers.......hmmm now what's a girl to do with these??

Bloody amazing nite.......Armin played 4 hours of pure bliss.........words can't describe it, so I'm not even gonna bother trying to!! My *cough* 241 *cough* piccies should speak for emselves..... hi my name is beemer and i'm a digi cam-aholic.......

can't wait to see her piccys. I wish I coulda been there, but the Two Tribes cold got me good. See ya all at PvD in a couple of weeks

Madis:

The pleasure was all mine mate - cant wait to see you again after my exams at Paul.

Absolutely fucking brilliant night - have never been elevated like that in my history of trance.

The combination of friends tracks and the a decent sized/up for it crowd completed the night perfectly.

Just a big shout out to all those who i met (and certainly will meet again)

Your absolutely right webbie - its going to test us incredibly hard.

Hey all here is my review from An Evening With Armin van Buuren!
its extremely long i know, but trust me this is the short version!

Well!!!! What can I say! Here is my review!

The night started with a hurried attempt to get ready after falling asleep in the late arvo, I had to be at Helens by 8:30, 3 minutes down the road and im there!!! After some quick pre party photos and some music to get us in the mood we were out the door.

First stop servo! Picked up some batterys for the tape recorder and a drink, by this time I was getting nervous it was a great feeling of anticipation! A 4hr set! How could he top his two tribes set! These questions kept running through my head all the way to the city!

The drive in was quiet...too quiet!! Hmmm maybe that was because Helens car didn't have a cd player? Or a tape deck?......or even a radio for that matter...just a great big hole..... How could such a music lover not have a car stereo......thats just cruel!! Lol

Anyway after grabbing some close parking near GAS it was a few minutes before we were at the door, by this time it was about 9:20, expecting a massive line like previous GAS events such as GODSKITCHEN and MINISTRY OF SOUND but to know avail! There was no one, a few fans but no line as yet! So we grabbed a seat! It wasnˇ¦t long before some familiars began to arrive! Webmeister for one, and even a quick appearance by xarg (webbys brother!)

10:15 the bouncers emerged with their barricades! My heart jumped a beat! We formed a line that seemed to span out as it went back!, the waiting was killing me and the 10 minutes it took for the bouncers to light those stupid flame cauldron things didn't help!

It wasn't long after until we got in, donw the stairs and I head for the guest list side! The bounce checked for my name and to my surprise I wasn't on it, but after having being promised a guest list spot I wasn't happy, not to worry ill pay! I grab for the cash but could only pull out a 10er Shit! "Weeeeeeeeeebbbbbbby" webmeister hands me a fifty! What a champ I still owe him $20

Straight in and the place was empty but Flipside was banging it out! System F - Solistice and A theme from Bangingglobe I remember Clearly!

Met up with some people I hadn't met before such as fellow Altitude Dj morro! Had a great chat about the evening which was to come! I then proceeded to hunt down the promoter, Marlo. I wished him goodluck with the night and handed over my latest demo cd!.

Onto Diggs & Morro what can I say a nicely worked set with great variation to bring the crowd to a climax for liquid m. There set started very progressive and built up to a more energetic trance, when Diggs dropped Moogwai ˇV Viola (Armin van Buuren remix) I nearly died! This tune is classic and should be the new Australian Anthem....hmmm maybe that's too far! Anyway u get my drift!

Liquid M were on next, I wanted to see them bad as ive heard great things but never actually had the opportunity to see them! Oh and they didn't disappoint! I was blown away but the technicality of their productions! So unique and professional, why aren't these guys signed to a label! There tunes were energetic and just got me even more pumped for Armin! They really got the crowd working! Hands in the air! Couldnˇ¦t stay long as myself and Helen were after an interview with the man Armin!. Two attempts scanning the club proved ineffective so I returned to the safety of the front row! Lol (sounds like a novel)

As I was glued to the front row I kept my eyes on the stairs closest to the entrance and before you knew it I saw a figure of a tall person with a collared shirt carrying a record case! Omg I grabbed Helen! "its go time!" we ran around but got to the stairs an nothing!!! WTF maybe it wasnˇ¦t him! We darted upstairs but also nothing ....damn lets go back down stairs then... as we decended the first flight just about to turn the corner to go down the second I looked up and BAM! There he was the man! with girlfriend by his side! He stopped and pointed at Helen "eeeey" then looked at me and did the same "eeeey" Helen asked straight away "Armin is it possible to grab a 10 minute interview for trance.nu" Armin had a smile on his face and replied with "yeah sure, come and have a drink with us!" I nearly collapsed! We both stuttered out the word ok sure!

We followed Armin downstairs and escorted by a staff member were taken to the back fire exit, at this point Helen had run to get her bag and our tape recorder. i got to the door and Armin turned around to hold the door for me (such a nice guy) but when he noticed Helen wasnˇ¦t with us he stopped almost panicked and looked at me! I said "shes coming she just went to get some things" Armin waited as I ran and got Helen, and before we knew it we were through two fire exits and into the GAS office, a simple office with filing cabinet desk and computer! And we were on!

I asked armin if it was allright to ask him some questions and he happily said off course!
The interview was awesome and covered many different questions (see interview for details)

The interview was over and it was time for a quick picture and he was out to start his set, we hurried into pole position for what would be a set of epic proportions hehe! The set was awesome (See tracklisting) the TA team was out in force and the tune spotting was fine tuned, I had the piece off paper cherished so know one could take it, every song was discussed and then decided on and then scribbled down onto the paper.

I secured the bible in my pocket as I made a dash for some water, got back legs hurting but I must go on! It just kept rising and rising! Umek - Gatex vs Speedy J - Krek (AVB Edit) this owned me! But I think the track that worked the crowd so well was.......u guessed it Airwave vs. Rising Star - Sunspot (DCML mix) crasher_kid went nuts as did webby and jace they looked possessed! Something had gotten into them! And it was ARMIN!

The end was near and there was one left to go! The notes rang in, a roar went up and it was Armin van Buuren feat Ray Wilson - Yet Another Day (Hiver & Hammers Ground Control Remix) what could this man do wrong!?

Once he was finished the cheers went on! And Armin proceeded to sign the many items from the crowd, I even saw a driver's license get signed, that's gonna be a hard one to explain at a traffic stop!

After that armin left, jace managed to grab a glimpse of Armin getting into a small Mitsubishi Mirage jace remarked something along the lines "oh come on surely you could give the man a better ride than that" Armin turned and laughed and was then driven away!

It was time to leave and we headed for the carpark, ears ringing legs hurting but feeling very satisfied! We jumped in the car butter sat there for 30minutes playing back the interview with Armin, you couldn't wipe the smile off my face! We then headed home very tired and hungry, Maccas? No I only have .30c and I owe webby $20 oh well!

And that was my Evening with Armin van Buuren

Helen/WaX:

Have you got, by any chance that piece of paper i wrote "Sunspot" on still?

If you dont mind, id like to get it off you at Paul perhaps - as a souvenier - it has great sentimental value.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
