good points

well after reading most of the replys i must say that i agree with alot that is being said but i think that trance perhaps is not as popular here because all the top dj's are so far away. i can prempt what you ppl are going to say ie we get so many djs nowdays etc.

however we have to take into account whwn they head out here. party season o/s is usually in summer time and i suggest that this is when most of the huge trance events are on in europe, hence their huge popularity. i feel that if we could get these big djs in our summer time especially december (when uni students are on holidays) then trance would grow in leaps and bounds in oz. it really is a matter of timing with all this stuff. take for example Field day 2003 . it was with out a doubt the best event i have ever been to, and i thought that i would never be saying that after two tribes in 2002. it was the vibe, the atmosphere and the general happiness of everyonre their, although sooooooooooo many ppl (including myself) were off-chops . the djs were ok ie felix da housecat etc but nothing special. i ask you this. why do you think they sold over 16000 tickets way before the actual day ? it was the timing. it was a public holiday, it was new years day and they were the best dj's in town. everwhere you went in sydney all the talk was "are you goin' to field day, have oyu got your ticket yet, should go off "etc. everyone knows that it was the only place to be in sydney on nyday. infact many ppl didnt go out nye because they were so hyped about field day. Not me because i'm hardcore and could handle both with a little artifiscial help ))) it was the best day ever. Fuzzy ( the promoters) got it all right and thats why it sold out so early and you had all those scalpers making a killing ( around $250 to get a ticket).

now imagine if there were the likes of tiesto, pvd, avb, ferry, oakey, joof or picotto playing. if it was held on the main arena where the house arena was this year it would go off. they would sell well over 20,000 easily i reckon.all they had were the house and breaks arena this year and they got 16000+ imagine they had a few or even one big trance headline out here. the streets of sydney would be deserted and everyone would be at the domain. see its all about timing my friends. i doubt that we will ever get the likes of those dj's to play at field day because they are in such high demand world wide, unless fuzzy dish out the big $$$$. promoters could however organise an event on say a public holiday in summer, make it during the day kinda like field day is organised.i gurantee you will get almost the same hype you got in syd about field day.

the upshot of this bloody long post is that trance can succeed but it needs proper organising, advertising, good lineups etc. this will help to develop a reputaion for an event like loveparade, white sensation,. everybody knows that on ny day field day is the place to be in sydney but if we can develop an event similar to field day but for trance then we could have our own event that would rival field day.

sorry to keep talking about field day but it just goes to show what a well organised event can do.

Orpheus, the reason why Crasher kid is annoyed by this is because he has replied to your thread on inthemix.

Crasher kid, I'm sure he wasn't referring to your own replies. I myself like your well-thought posts on there.

inthemix has such a large diversity of people with different tastes and views. You wouldn't expect everyone on there to be so in-tune with trance and the trance scene, even if they think they are. We people, as indicated by the domain name of this site, are likely to be much more trance-focused.
