Everyone that thinks Bush is making the decisions on war is a little misled. I don't think Bush has the intelligence to come up with enough reasoning to take action on any political issue, let alone a war. There are other figures pulling the levers behind the curtain of the great and powerful OZ.

As for the protests... I think they help represent the publics opinion. Too bad entire countries (with their governments) can't stand up together to voice their opinions. They just worry too much about screwing up the relationships ($$$$$) they have invested in the states. At least now there is more global resistance against war then there has ever been.

As for the people that do support the war... all I can say is propaganda & filtered media.

^^^^^^ all true...i had a conversation on the war with arecebo 2 weeks ago in person....

and i too ahve noticed alot of people dissing the american population in total....there are millions in that population that are against the war, millions more just uncertain about the stance on the war and only a small percentage with the war 100%...


about Bush being elected, its pretty obvious if anyone was following up with the elections as they progressed that Gore won but they had the re vote in florida and rigged it getting bush in power...


IMO, everything that has occured in the past 3 years since bush got elected is part of a planned agenda.

starting off with the WTC. my conspiracy theory is taht it was american planned/assisted to use as an excuse to go against the Taliban and divert attention from the recession USA was to face.

Bush knows that the populatoin doesnt like him too much so hes trying to create history now with his extremist methods since he wont be coming back next term

I totally agree, ever since Bush has gotten into power it all really seems like a big conspiracy how everything seems to fall into place. I think that the conspiracy goes deeper than that however, I just don't know what is it yet.

I was in attendance at the FTAA sumit in Quebec. It was quite the experiance.

The magic of it is that there are so many groups who have different ideologies on how to change the world. I'd say only 1% of those there (extreme marxists aka the black bloc) believed that violent dissodence is the only way to bring about revolution.

They are very controversial and its sad that ppl judge the entire protest movement as violent because of a few. In fact i saw many altercations between viloent protestors and peaceful ones over that very issue.

IMO all ideologies that promote change in our society as useful and relavent.

ANd to say that the protests are "worthless" is the most uninformed opinion I have ever heard. Those that believe this should be ashamed of themselves.

World peace starts within ourselves... We are our own biggest enemy... Death is not the end, it is a new beggining...

I'm going to remain neutral in the discussion about the war itself, but one thing about protesting:

I hardly think that a mass of people parading on the streets of Kingston, Ontario, making a lot of excited noise, blocking traffic, and being generally annoying, is going to make Bush recall his troops/bombs/whatever. I (and most people I know) don't even care about the message they are trying to convey, we just think that they are being incredibly disruptive to ordinary people who are only trying to go about their business, and that means we are pissed off at them and not at any government.

Many of us also feel that these people are caught up in the moment and don't understand the real issues behind what they are protesting against. Sometimes we wonder if they even know what they are protesting against. These people constitute the same demographic as the Arts students who cut class to protest against tuition deregulation.

I'm not against protests in general. I can understand protests outside the white house or something. But people need to actually stop and think before they go out and make fools of themselves. If your message has no way of reaching the people that actually matter, then please, just go back to sleep. Write a letter to the president maybe. If he gets enough letters he might take them into consideration. But don't go out and annoy people that have nothing to do with the issue at all.

Yeah I agree completely. I was wrong to say that 3/4 of protestors don't know why they are there but it's sad that a few of the individuals overshadow the peaceful people who acting like complete assholes. Civil disobediance interferes with my personal rights and that's where I draw the line. Chain yourselves together on your own property but if you impede my personal life like making me late for work, and generally being a pain in the ass to all, then I hate those people.
