ok, let's assume another scenario. we won't spread your stuff over the internet. better yet, we won't spread the dj sets, in which your tunes play. WHO THE FUCK IS GOING TO BUY YOUR WORKS THEN????? 20 DJs in Holland, who listened to ID&T??????????????
jeez... just starting the career, and already think just about the money:\... sorry, but with this attitude you won't make it that far.
and i was starting to like and respect you very much as a producer
P.S. don't think i'm i hypocrite because of what's written in my signature. i download mp3s to listen to and enjoy the tunes, then, when they come out, i buy the stuff to show the artist my appreciation. |
Well now im gonna explain to you why you're so totally wrong.
First, you think im saying this because of the money? Can't you just think further than that? Tell you what. Im gonna be honest now. What do you think I've got for the remix of Indigo on the flip? NOTHING.. JUST NOTHING! So why did I do that? Because of my love for the music, and I was already happy with a release..
About the amateures publibity:
If we post something, we ASK for feedback, we ASK it to be spread, because then we know people like it. We're not gonna complain if we see our tunes on Soulseek or whatever type of sharing network. So that's basically just a stupid example.
You may spread/download tunes before the release. But a topproducer doesn't ask to get his work spread on the internet. I personally think livesets/radio rips can do any harm, so thats fine. But when a full rip of the tune leaked out, the situation changes. I don't call this good publicity or whatever. Lots of people will get it and burn it onto cd to play it in their sets. And as I said before I'm not thinking about the money, but I'm thinking about OTHER producers who I would like to see producing more tunes in the future. Where would trance go without them.
Please think before you say something like that.
Greetings,
Galen
