Agreed about the Mindcircus remix. The DJ Dazzle, Fred Numf vs. Etienne Overdijk, Jay's Sleepwalkers and Phunk Investigation mixes all beat it easily, for starters. Funny that the One For The Road mix was mentioned, though, since it's probably one of their most energetic and melodic remixes. All in all, they probably do get too much hype, but things are never done half-assed around here...

G&D are so overrated it sickens me...no i don't think they're horrible producerse but they are very solid ones...but there's nothing about their tunes that excite me or suck me in at all when i'm listening to their work. so what if they're so called "different"...does being different automatically mean its better than everything else?

three drves - carrera 2 : average
nalin & kane - beachball (G&D remix) : too boring and overrated
as the rush comes through: completely overrated...average song with horrible vocals IMO

only beautiful things, summer calling and mindcircus are worthy of all the hype

and BT in his heyday completely 0wns G&D

I agree with the Carrera 2 remix, it's not AMAZING but it's ok.
Beachball is also good.
As the rush comes is right up there with their mix of beautiful things. Both IMO are just incredible.

welcome to "the world according to every random tard"

brought to you by tranceaddict.

get over it people, listen to what you like, doesnt matter what anyone else thinks. tracks arent made to satisify the musical tastes of every single person, threads like this are just stating the blatant obvious that a popular producer/remixer doesnt appeal to certain peoples taste. well, thats a given.

this section is called MUSIC DISCUSSION for a reason. if we aren't supposed to express our opinions about music and the artists that produce them, then why in god's name are we here for? mp3's?

Considering Josh Gabriel has done some huge stuff like Wave3 & his remix of Dido - Thank You, I think the majority of stuff he has done with Dave Dresden is a bit of a let down, and is in most cases, lacking in decent overall production finese.

For example; the remix of One For The Road, is just simply boring progressive at a trance tempo. The production is quite shallow in my opinion. I don't understand the hype generated by it on this board. Is it suddenly because the trance crew has felt left out by the increase in popularity in progressive music, and along comes G&D who decide to make prog house for trance tempos, then suddenly they're the new trance gods? It is a curious concept, but I guess its much the same as the hype over Filterheadz late last year.

Nevermind, its just my opinion...

I must agree with you...the hype is getting to me also...everyone was talking about "How good" the Essential Mix was and I found it to be a great disappointment, but again as others say music comes in all flavors not all of us appreciate the same flavor, so it is all a matter of opinion.

Meh, some people wouldn't know good music if i kicked them in the ass.

I think Gabriel and Dresden are truly talented, and I love their style. Their tunes feel different from anything else out there, and they have carved their own little genre. Like their style or not, you can't argue the fact that they are talented and make a lot of people like myself happy.
