IMO thats when pvd put more effort into his productions..his tunes were soo complex and electrofying...remember pvd-Words (For Love) (Original Mix)...pvd vs tilt-rendevous(sooo dark and very deep)
maybe pvd's tunes have "evolved" backwards..lol..not bashing him cuz his sounds is unique but may not be any big dj's cup of tea...since his sound is lacking DEPTH IMO..nowadays
pvd=1999...depth..complexity
pvd=Now....unique.stale/not deep/party guy..love him or hate him
i would have to agree with this to some extent. i used to love pvd productions/remixes, tracks like...
Paul Van Dyk - Words
Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel
Paul Van Dyk - Love From Above
Tilt vs Paul Van Dyk - Rendevous
Humate - Love Stimulation (Paul Van Dyk Mix)
Tenth Chapter - Prologue (Carl Cox & Paul Van Dyk Mix)
BT & Paul Van Dyk - Namistai
I'm sure i forgot something, but i thought pvd had a lot better style back with these tracks...there was variety, god damn beauty hehehe, now every song is the same and it gets really old...

Armin played 'Nothing but you' on ASOT tonight.
And by the way Floorfiller,you should try listening to pauls zurdo soundtrack,theres a lot of different styles on this cd,not just the usual pvd sound.

There are some tunes that I still cant figure out how other Trance DJ's just did not play them, Im talking more recent now...
MMDC - No More Rain - one of the few new tracks that completely sent chills every which way around my body.
Circ - Destroy She said - read above.
I dont like the fact that the only way I hear these live is too see PVD, which makes me like that fact...

No More Rain - Other DJs probably just don't have copies of it. I can't imagine there are many vinyls floating around.
Destroy She Said - Because it's cheese? Doesn't mean I don't like it, but it's certainly cheesy and no other DJ would get away with spinning it without getting "the treatment" from the TA faithful.

with you on this one, it's cheesy as fuck, if I'd played this before PvD, I'd have got slated
whereas No More Rain is just pure gash, thats why noone plays it

No More Rain does have that "Casio keyboard" sound to it, production-wise... could do with a remake perhaps.

dom, plenty of people have no more rain, it was on some promo sampler for DJ's, if they wanted to play it, they would, but they don't, because it's gash
I do quite like destroy she said, it has potential
