Just read this on Tiesto's site

New talent

Hi Everybody,

I just finished my gig in Las Vegas half an hour ago. I had an epic weekend with four great shows. I spent a couple of days in Tahoe, went to Austin Texas, a festival in Chicago and the Global festival at the Palms hotel in Vegas.

Every night I went out with the promoter of the city I was in and most of them where bringing up the DJ Magazine top 100 voting. It's a big thing for most of the promoters and most of them will book DJ's that are high on this list.

That made me think, because if that's the case the voting is important. Especially to breed new talent.
There are so many new great young DJ's out there that I feel it's time to give them a chance. I appreciate all the love and support I get from all over the world but I won this award three times so if I would win it a fourth time, it wouldn't make a difference for my career.
For the new talented DJ's around the world it could make a difference, so I would like to ask all the people who support me to vote for new talent.

Don't vote for me, vote for the new breed!

I just voted myself and my personal top 5 is:

1.Eddie halliwell
2.Sander van doorn
3.Serge deviant
4.Blake jarrell
5.Richard Durant

Thanks again to everybody who came to my shows and who bought the new single 'dance4life'!

Love,

Tiėsto

Interesting if authentic. Seems awfully courteous of the guy.

I find this hard to believe. Its not that Tiesto isnt a nice guy and all, but i remember him once saying he really doesnt listen to many djs because he doesnt want to be influenced but what they play. Not saying that this isnt true, just hard to believe.

Hard to believe? You can go to his website and see for yourself. It's the most recent post in the News section. As for not listening to other DJs, I know that from that list, Serge Devant opens and closes for him every time he's in New York, so he has to listen to some DJs to find out who gets to fill those roles.

yes hard to believe, but i didnt say it wasnt true. As far as it being on his website, that doesnt mean much to me, that could be anyone writing that down. I actually saw a video interview where Tiesto is saying that he doesnt listen to that many djs.

also, he "mentioned" Blake Jarell on his list. LOL that guy is horrible IMO plus he really does more live PA than DJ'ing and just makes me yawn everytime ive heard him.

Serge doesn't do much for me, either. I kind of view him as a NY Pete Tong. He plays all types of popular EDM tracks, but doesn't really say much with his sets.

You honestly think if people are writing things on his official page, quoting him, he wouldn't care if it weren't true? Come on man...
