i'm glad that the Toronto fans didn't boo the US anthem during the Jays season openner .. nor did they boo "God Bless America" by Celine Dion ..

it doesn't matter how much u hate a country .. it's just disrespectful to boo an anthem regardless and shows how much class you have. i don't care if they play the Iraqi anthem, I wouldn't boo it either.

i think the only anthems worth booing are cheeze anthems ..

I agree good that there was no booing. About respect. But I think that the MLB deserves a big BOOOOO for mixing politics with sport. They should keep that shit out of the game and keep sport as the great distraction for the masses.

I completlely agree. If they want to do that in america, in their own country, fine, I have no problem with that. But there is no way they should be forcing their patriotism on us. That's not right.

i dunno .. i feel sometimes like the NHL makes ur feel patriotic with hockey at times. the thing with the baseball game was that i don't think they even knew or remembered that Toronto was apart of Canada. i'm sure the thought never even crossed their mind when they were planning this thing ..

The circumstances of any war is critical for the Nation involved, and may effect their livlihood. Ignoring such matters is a rude IMO towards the soliders, who are fighting for the citizens rights to play and watch sports, and live freely.

In their own country fine, but not in someone elses. Nobody would like it if the NHL were a russian or Chinese run league and they sang their national anthem during our periods to support their war cry. It's just not appropriate.

Hmmmm... But they are part of an American sports league though, and must follow the guidelines as every other team. Not everyone Canadian dislikes the league playing god bless america... And if china ran the leafs, then we should pay respects to china for running the NHL...
