The Motorola MotoFONE F3. Any ideas when that 850/1900 version is coming around? I know it's for sale in Mexico and Chile, but I can't find a place that sells them. My mom needs a cheapo phone with awesome battery life and zero features.

Simple, nice little design, not too fancy.

I just picked up a Global SIM card from here: www.go-sim.com for anyone who's travelling and wants to take their cell phone (and not pay charges etc).

Not sure if this link has been posted or not yet; I didnt see it on RJ's first post.
I found this site very handy for finding out info on phone specs and the various plans/costs from Canadian carriers. Has a really great comparison feature across the board w/ the various wireless providers
Research in Motion Ltd. has taken the wraps off a new BlackBerry aimed at consumers: the Curve 8300.
The wireless messaging gadget is named for its smooth edges. It's designed for people who prefer a full keyboard for typing text, rather than the one on the popular Pearl, which puts two letters on each key and relies on predictive software to choose the desired letter.
The Curve has one letter per key, so it's slightly wider than the Pearl though still small compared with many full-keyboard phones.
The pocket-sized communications system combines cellphone, e-mail, text-messaging (SMS and MMS) and web-surfing capabilities. It has built-in Bluetooth wireless and can be used as a modem for a computer.
It also has the BlackBerry Maps navigation feature, which helps locate things such as businesses and restaurants by typing in the address and downloading a map. The system can provide an area map as well as instructions on how to get to a particular location.

this BB seriously has me thinking about going back. I saw this a couple weeks ago.
Although I have gotten used to my RAZR, it just doesn't quite compare to having a BB for 5 yrs.

That's badass. I kinda wish I woulda saved up for that, but I doubt T-Mobile has them...I could be wrong. I'm still very happy with my 7290 though.
