My views on the sets.
M.I.K.E - I didn't expect him to play his old school trance styles but still none the less wasn't a bad set, but not a great one either. He either kicked it off with Glen Morrison's Hydrology or Contact, can't remember which one - I love both and then he mixed it in with Deadmau5's Not Exactly which I've been digging so that was wicked. After that there was nothing too special about the set, I knew he was going to finish with Universal Nation which was a cool but very predictable wrap up.
The Thrillseekers - This set I enjoyed a fair bit, Steve was right in there with the crowd and you could tell he was enjoying himself greatly. Few highlights for me from his set was Luminary - Amsterdam, Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia & Sean Tyas - Drop. He also threw Delerium - Silence in which will always win over a crowd, all in all a decent set
Rank 1 - This is where it got fairly techy, atleast in my opinion. I'd never heard a set from Rank 1 nor have any idea what they spin but I enjoyed the set. Had a fair few of their productions and remixes in it (A life less ordinary, the future (rank 1 remix), analog feel (rank 1 remix), this world is watching me, airwave!!
Richard Durrand - One thing I didn't like about Richard's set is to me it wasn't that memorable, it just seemed like track after track of songs that work well on a dance floor and that's pretty much it. But yeah he threw in a few songs a lot of people could relate to and go along with (chasing cars, smack my bitch up, etc). I left at 6:30 so I don't know what he was spinning at the end of his set but yeah, was alright
All in all I had a really good night, plenty of good tunes and a good setup on Future Entertainment's behalf. One thing I didn't like, was the DJ being so bloody high up, that I really didn't get. They should of had them at the same level where Armin was @ White Party - relatively close to the ground I think. I remember walking in and seeing Steve Stranglis up on the decks and im like damn.
Lighting was awesome, some excelleent programming - sound was alright but I thought the quality at white party was a bit more clearer and balanced.
I also noticed the Future Music Festival posters they had up for March 9, looking forward to seeing whos playing
