No, you did NOT get that straight. If any of you were musicians, you would understand that it's not always going to be pretty and smooth. There are erratic transitions, and if you can blend that in with somber tunes, that creates a different sound experience all together.

First CD could pass for an ISOS tracks wise. A lot of the stuff I haven't heard before, but I don't know if it's because it's new or because I'm just not into the trance loop anymore.

Mixing, meh...I've given up on that for Tiesto.

Second CD is a let down but not surprising, a bit more of Tiesto's ISOS4 (which I think was utter shit).

So it's basically you buy the set for the first CD. It won't be a memorable mix but at least Tiesto is slightly getting back to what made me fall in love with his earlier mixes...

5/10

The Track Carpe Noctum is like traffic but it hink he could of prefected the shit ouf it. but generalllyy its an amazing album...oh and Ten Seconds Before Sunrise is like Forever today TIMES 12

I only see a couple of songs that give you the old feeling that we all know about. The only song that gave me that feeling was Parker & Hanson - Let Me Be (Original Extended)
And again other songs are decent but shouldn't have been on this comp. One last thing is Tijs doing his ISOS's with a theme location now??? LOL he should just listen to ISOS1&2, and hopefully it might hit him.

Yeah, I think he has really gone from that indoor loungy, bluesy, romantic feeling to more what he would play in opern air venues. That's what was nice about 1-3, anyone, even non-edm fans enjoyed them since they were not typical songs that Tijs would play out. It is a big improvement over ISOS 4 and overall I like listening to both cd's. So I really don't care if anyone else likes it. Nothing will ever come close to 1-3 because those standards were high and there is too much crap out now to make something like that. I think the mixing is only bad on the first 4 songs of cd one as well as the last track. In between it's good. Mixing on 2nd cd is better and it will depend on your own taste if you like it more than cd1.

The first disc is surprisingly good.

This will be my personal summer travelling soundtrack, if nothing else comes up. Quite tasty.

I understand what the earlier poster was saying about the distinction between tracks. He's not saying he likes trainwrecking, but sometimes a constant smooth beat all the way through the mix CAN be "boring" in a way.

I might as well buy all the seperate MP3s and play them in the same order in Winamp... in fact it would probably sound better considering some of the transitions!

lol

just turn on crossfade

For me, the best ISOS5 must be:

quote:
01. Conil - Malibu Beach
02. Estuera - Tales From The South (Jonas Steurs Revision Flow)
03. Parker And Hanson - Let Me Be (Original Extended)
04. Kalafut And Fygle - Novocaine (Mark Otten Remix)
05. Shah And Laruso Present Global Experience - Zanzibar
06. Basic Perspective - Small Step On The Other Side
07. Jes - People Will Go (Steve Forte Rio Remix)
08. Electric Prompt - Beside Me (Gothek DC Remix)
09. Ozgur Can - Irony
10. Jonas Steur - Second Turn
11. Super 8 Plus DJ Tab - Helsinki Scorchin
12. Fonzerelli - Moonlight Party
13. Jaytech - Genesis (Jimbos Afterburner Mix)

Just one cd, just ISOS's style tracks, just the best song, just a bomb ISOS.

blatently not. just because a transition is noticeable & makes use of contrast (rather then seamlessly blending into the preceeding track so you barely notice the changeover), that doesn't necessarily make it a trainwreck. if you pick any random long pretentious word from the dictionary and search for it here on the boards, the likelyhood is that you'll come across a big tiesto-related thread from last year where pio argued that point with ishkur quite extensively

regardless, i played cd1 the other night and thought the mixing was alright few minor keyclashes but on the whole far superior to 4
