...was really something shit.
I felt like piknic was invaded by a Grade 6 grad dance. Honestly, it sucked. I knew it was going to be young at the beginning and I told myself not to complain and just enjoy it. But I couldn't. The crowd was just terrible and I really didn't enjoy myself. MSTKRFT playing Daft Punk-1 More Time was the last straw...just SHITE.
Sad Mafioso and Misstress Barbara the day before were head and shoulders above the crap that was served today. I think they should start carding for I Love Neon shows: 18 and younger only.

i've been to many, many ILN events, and this one's crowd was seriously not that young. however, i agree that the music was not very good. jordan dare and mstrkrft had their moments, but not as good as they used to be. I find that the whole blog-house/nu-rave/dance-rock movement is talking a turn towards harder, faster sounds, and i find myself hardly able to tolerate fast music anymore.
sometimes i think it's cause i'm getting older.....or wiser ? nah probably just older...lol

Made it to all 3 piknics this weekend
16yr olds pushing their way to the front + too much of that gritty high pitched electro noise = shitty piknic in comparison to the other 2.
ILN is no longer attendibile; electro is the new indy and the kids are out in full force.

Word. Personally loved it.
Heard the music from Parc Cite du Havre yesterday and was really, really happy I didn't go.

amen
you said it!!
the I love Neon parties from 2007 and 2006 were sick. I remember Boys Noize at SAT and the place was pretty empty. These days, it'll be rammed to the rafters with 17 yr olds dressed to be "electro".

i went to an ILN event to see Lifelike, Jordan Dare was playing and i still remember the noise from that night, constant lifeless electro tinged beats that were makin my ears bleed. it was so bad that i ended up leavin before lifelike came on. how teenage kids like this music is beyond me, my guess is that they dont know better...i remember our generation were hooked on GU and NUBREED series or even old school trance..and am only 22...its a shame really
