Without knowing the carrier's name, it's quite impossible for us to trackdown any APN settings changes and etc. I would double check all fields to confirm it's work? I don't know.

HTC Sensation looks to have signed bootloader, custom ROMs look to be bummed






Did you think maybe HTC would change its ways after locking down the bootloader on the Thunderbolt and Incredible S? Sorry, no. The upcoming Sensation looks to have been similarly afflicted, with Android Police bringing the bad news that its internals are protected by HTC's private key. This will definitely prove to be an issue for those looking to run custom ROMs that are clean as a whistle, but something tells us the hackers shall overcome. They usually do.


(Motorola and now HTC is enforcing their bootloaders to be locked)

Can i unlock it straight from that version, or do i need to downgrade to an earlier version. And do you have a website that you know of? I googled it and it seems to talk about iph 4, i have an iph 3gs, in case you didn't know. And i just want to unlock, not jailbreak. Thx a bunch

1) No
2) Can't downgrade the basebands
3 & 4) The iPad baseband 06.15.00 can't be loaded on the IP4, only 3G and 3GS.
5) Can't unlock w/ ultrasnow unless you jailbreaking and the factory unlock database can not be access anymore by 3rd parties.

Just get the Gevey Sim, as I stated before

I suggest you to do a carrier unlock, get your sister to call Rogers. Sounds like she HUP'ed to another phone and this will make the 3GS off contract and unlockable.

There's no other way to unlock the iPhone, unless you jailbreak and apply ultrasnow ... given if you're on the baseband of 05.16.01. Which in this case you don't want to jailbreak and you've updated the baseband.

Dude, thanks for the help. At this point, it does look like it's worth just paying Rogers $50 to get it officially unlocked. Without your insight, i might have just screwed up the phone completely. Cheers!

NP, bright side of things ... even though Rogers / Fido have the most strict and unfair unlocking policy, we do have access to that database for $50. Some regions don't even have that access and when that unlocking service came out, they paid almost upto $180 USD to unlock the 3GS and IP4.
