30 more presales were released and sold due to EXTREME demand.
SIgnificantly more than 230 people will be turned over in the course of 8 hours.
The venue has represented itself as 300 capacity, but even if it is only a 200 capacity venue it has not been oversold.
THESE ARE THE EXACT NUMBERS.
EVEN IF YOU HAVE A PRESALE COME BEFORE 1 AM, PROBLEM SOLVED.
We are not staffing the venue, they will allow in their legal capacity, it will be exactly as packed as it can be legally, and no more than it has in the past for popular parties.
So yeah, promoters are saying 200.
Grain, salt, etc.
Also, the owner of Oslo doesn't have the best reputation for conducting business well - so I'm sure that is adding to people's concerns.

Quite certain we could get any TAs in with the folks we know. I'm good friends with at least 1 person involved and he's staying with Crazy Larry (also involved) so I don't think anyone of us will be totally butt-fucked.
truuuuuuuuuuuuuue!
bring on Saturday!

I hope I never have to encounter that fellow again, and that's all I'll say.
It became very clear, very quickly why exactly Pier decided to sit that tour out.

I've only met him a few times, seems whacky to say the least, but he was nice when we met.

Not so much when I met him. Then again, I'd be upset too if I started my set with a floor full of people dancing and proceeded to watch the club completely empty over the course of the next hour.

I'm sure he had nothing to do with it.
Yeah saw them do their live thing @ cheap sunglasses...it was ok...good thing Magda got on shortly after. I think Pier Bucci does a much better live set by himself. The time I saw Larry DJ in SF he was pretty good though. Anyways, I have friends who are friends with him, so I'll reserve judgment till I (probably) get to know him better this weekend.
Jesus its really mind boggling just how many people from the entire techno scene will be in Detroit this weekend. Pretty much every single person I met in Miami.

I think it's generally agreed that Larry is a pretty versatile and solid DJ - he just really shouldn't have even tried to do a "live" set (which was really just an m-audio keyboard and Ableton with a Wiimote).
Beyond that, I think it was pretty hard for anyone who witnessed his little fit in Chicago to walk away with all that much respect for him - we've all got our bad nights though, just a shame you only get to make a first impression once.
Still, for a party that was booked one week before it was supposed to happen (because Kazell bailed yet again), he had as full (if not far fuller) a house as he could have expected, and just dropped the ball in a major, major way.
