I just bought Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 'cos it looked cool, will give me something to waste time on after i finish exams and it was half price!
Anyone played that and have an opinion on it? Mr Raistlin you are obviously a fantasy buff, played this one?

never played it (tho watched it played). my PC is a little long in the tooth, didnt really wanna play it after i found out the enemies levelled with you. so you can essentially explore the entire world at level 1. took away the feeling of accomplishment somewhat imo. also, too big. too too big and long. but, were i a younger, more patient lad i reckon i wouldve loved it. you want epic, oblivion is your best bet- the fvcking game has hundreds of hours in quests! thats just too ridiculous for me!
stunning game visually too.
based on gothic 2 & elder scrolls 3, i went with gothic 3.

yeah i played oblivion a little bit.
wasnt a huge fan, basically everything pkc said was right.
the levelling system is friggin shit house as you have to max certain talents on each level to receive the optimum output upon levelling. so basically i was going around getting stealth or athletics or whatever other skill up before levelling. kind of made it boring for character developement.
and yeah if u have time to kill its great. u can just walk around in the world and find shit loads of stuff to do. you dont have to follow the main story line. can just do whatever the hell u want pretty much.
i didnt like the fighting system in it at all either
