dude it is winter and i have to feed 12 people. root vegetables are always in season.
you try cooking for 12 in a home kitchen.
plus when you are feeding that many it is best to stay safe...not only because the meal is infinitely easier to prepare...but you can actually have the time to enjoy your party at the same time.
ps..you don't serve meat over a puree, you just don't. some do, but not me..big no no in my book.
i'll make matzo balls promise.
pps...port sauce with cranberries is not cranberry sauce.
