Dutch party organisation United Dance Company (UDC) is in serious trouble after disappointing visitor numbers at last weeks Dance Valley.
'Only' 42.000 people visited the rolling countryside of Spaarnwoude's nature reserve just outside Amsterdam, but that doesn't nearly cover the enormous production costs. For that reason, all 17 regular employees have heard that will be fired straightaway. Marketing manager Caspar Povel has confirmed the news. "We had expected a lot more visitor on this years Dance Valley"
It looks like Dance Valley is the first big loser of the heavy festival competition this summer. With Extrema, Melt and the love parade on the same day, it was almost certain that things would go wrong for one of them.
UDC has not gone completely bankrupt, so the remaining parties for this year, like Nightmare Outdoor, will go on.
What happens after is yet unknown.
