But to give up what Andrew had suggested (as a possibility), would not be in Toronto's best interest.

How about Calderon, Peterson, Dixon and their 1st Round Pick in '08

That would be a good deal (for both teams imo) - especially since the Lakers are in need of a point guard.

That trade is not worth it from Lakers point of view.

If I was the Lakers GM, I'd want Bargnani and Calderon plus MoPete plus 2 first rounders.

Kobe would never want to play in Toronto. He's going to a big market team.

Come again? Toronto is a small market team? Where do you think Toronto ranks in terms of media market size in North America?

not small market but there's bigger, more enticing cities out there. i'd be surprised if toronto was in the top 5.

Where the hell are cities like Detroit, SA, Miami, Philly or Boston?

edit: when i think about though, Toronto really represents all of Canada so it does make sense.

SA is probably the smallest media market in the league. Philly is the biggest of the remaining. Miami, Boston, and Detriot about the same i'm guessing.

There only four cities in the US with populations over 2 million:

Rank City Population
1 New York City 8,213,839
2 Los Angeles 3,844,829
3 Chicago 2,842,518
4 Houston 2,076,189
5 Philadelphia 1,463,281
6 Phoenix 1,461,575
7 San Antonio 1,256,509
8 San Diego 1,255,540
9 Dallas 1,213,825
10 San Jose 912,332

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...s_by_population

The GTA has a population of close to 5 million.

The Raptors aren't looking so bad now, are they. Added bonus is that New York has nothing to offer, and I do believe Kobe would want to play for a team led by Colangelo.

Chicago, Houston, Phoenix seem and Dallas seem like the only other realistic alternatives at this point.

Keep dreaming. Your proposed offer is ridiculous and would likely spark a new round of LA riots if Mitch Kupchak was dumb enough to agree to it.
