Vlad, don't get me wrong, Tascam XS-8 just like any of their mixers, is an awesome mixer, but it's only two channel and designed more for scratching/turntabalist DJ. For trance/techno DJs, if you don't mind the size and be willing to spend a little more money, I suggest getting either the Denon 400 or Tascam X-17 or less money Tascam X-15.

Ive never really mixed on a regular 10", I doubt I will be able to mix on a 19"... Ive played around with some of my friends toys... but he has garbage stuff and he himself doesnt know how to spin... he is a party DJ that simply plays music... cuts it off and puts on another record [personally I find that horrid] but it makes him money... as long as hes happy. And anyway, how do you learn to mix on a crappy Gemini mixer [dunno what its called, but it has grey camouflage]

I think Ill just go with the Numark, but I am willing to spend around $400-500...

By the way, how is the Numark PPD01 Mixer?? and when are the DMX series gonna be available, they look really good??

Numark mixers are really good when comparing to other entry to mid level mixers. IMO Numark by far has much superior quality than American DJ, Amerucan Audio, Gemini, and Stanton. I suggest Numark Matrix 3, PPD01 is a really good one. The new series, DMX, should be out by end of Summer. If you are willing to spend that much money, get this one:

Allen and Heath Xone02 if you want to stick with just two channel mixer, might as well get the best one, right, . I can get you this one for 499.95

Remember, the only thing is, im learning and dont intend on having this mixer for too long... I intend to have a new mixer by the start of the new year... My b-day is in Dec. and I intend to go shopping for toys... ...I want a mixer I can learn the basics on.

By the way... I JUST GOT MY TECHNICS 1210 MKII!!! ITS SO SWEET, only prob is no way to play anything on it... I dont have a mixer
Im a newbie with turntables right now... never owned one, hardly ever played on one... what is the weight on the arm supposed to be set on?

For you're weightage? Are you going to scratch? It depends on how much pressure is required to stop the skipping for the most part. However there are general weightages for your genre('s) of choice. Would you be doing trance generally?

Im gonna be mixing club, trance, hard trance etc... and another question... what is the anti-skating? what should it be set at?

And I think I made my decision with which mixer I will get... Ill probably go witht he Numark PPD01 it looks so nice and looks like the new wave of mixers, 24bit digital mixing is wins!
