I for one have never really posted in the chillout room and rarely even go in there unless I'm really bored. Since I first joined TA I knew that that section was useless.
I know there aren't many HoM fans here, but they had the same exact problem w/ their party central section. Here's what they did.
1. They moved the the link to the section to the bottom of the page
2. They limited new topics to one new topic per person per week.
3. They eliminated post counts
Just moving it to the bottom of the page really helped out because new members didn't realize it was there. As far as limiting posts, not my cup of tea and just more work for moderators but it is effective.
I feel that there should be some type of vip section, but just like everyone else I'm stumped as to how to pick the vip's. I do know, however, that it cannot be based on post count. I'm still under 300, but I think that I have actually contributed to TA w/ the TA Track of the Week idea I'm running. Where as some others w/ 2000 posts have just talked about stupid sh*t in the chillout room. Them becoming a vip wouldn't be fair. I think that if there were a vip section I for one would post more direct downloads. I was talking to x-dream about this the other day. He said he had 150 dl's of a track he posted on direct dl and there were only 15 replies. That gives us an idea of how many leechers are lurking just waited to steal our links. W/ a Vip section at least we know it is other vip members, who are also sharing, that are getting the tracks and if they don't reply to every thread that's fine. It's the people that aren't even registered and have never contributed to anything on this site that piss me off
Well good luck to you Swamper...the larger this place gets, the harder it will be to control. I have faith that you will make this place what it should be--a great place to share thoughts and files w/ other trance lovers.
