BTW, paying your own tuition isn't very smart( no offence here). If you can get an OSAP, you should do it. Think about it this way - right now to earn say 1000$ it will take you(assuming you earn 10$/hour) 100 hours.. When you graduate it will take you (assuming you earn 25$/hour) 40 hours.

So what would you prefer ?? working 100 hours now, pay for tution and be poor rest of the term, or borrow money, have 1000$ in your pocket(from 100 hours you've worked), and then pay your tuition upon graduation after only working 40 hours..

Think about it...

PS, of course if you cannot get OSAP, then this whole argument is useless.

or u could get OSAP money and invest all of it ..

Finally someone that shares the same view as me... working to pay off your school at $10/hr now is useless and waste of time. Anyone who doesn't think so is an idiot!

Of course, if you can land a $20-25/hr job right now and pay for school that way, that's completely different... then again, if I had a $25/hr job right now, I wouldn't even think about wasting time on school - save money, invest it in mutual funds, watch my money double every 6 yrs or so...

I could get $4000 from OSAP if i lived on my own....which wouldn't cover rent for 6 months, let alone 6000 dollars for tuition and books. So i stay at home, get no osap, and pay my own way. when i graduate, i wont have any debts. it works, but it aint easy.

but since you have to be on the poverty line, or a refugee to get full osap funding these days.....mightas well work your ass off now and pay it while you can. Funding cutbacks hurt the working class the most....and ironically enough, that's where the govt. gets most of their tax money from......goddamn tories....
