yuck...I hate that shit!!! They have a radio station down here called Party 93.1 and that is all they play all fucking day long!!!
When the radio station first came out, everyone was under the impression that they would play REAL music, but they totally disappointed me and many others. Again, there are those "fools" who think that is real music and are the ones supporting the station to play crap like that. Fucking sick.

haha that is soo true. in fact thats exactly what i feel at my school and how the EXACT conversation goes. when i tell them, i doubt they would like real Techno, they just stare at me like i feeding them bullshit. Maybe i should make one CD of trance songs, one of techno and another of house and ask them to listen to it and then say, "you still think they sound the same....?"

dude, that crap is ultra-cheese commercial hip-hop. like 'our own' dj sammy/lasgo etc.. there is more complex underground hip-hop. i don't particularly listen to it, but if we don't want people to be mind-closed about our music, we shouldn't be mind-closed about their music.

and yep, 99% of people have an horrible taste in music, or are just very ignorant about it. people just listen to what is 'cool', so they can be normal like everyone else and be accepted in the society. There's also lots of people who don't particularly like music, and aren't willing to be educated on it.

and it's odd because I don't even like techno.

My friends used to consider all electronic music techno, until I told them I listen to trance. But now that I'm into prog house, they think it's trance...lol

The only person I know into electronic music doesn't even know what he's talking about. He thinks pvd is prog for crying out loud...

I know there are a few TAs at my school but I don't know who they are, I just know they lurk in the T-Dot forums.

On the other hand, we're all over 22 years old, we're not trendy kiddos anymore, and we're usually open to all kinds of music.

i'm assuming you mean the stuff that's on mtv and that sort of thing, because there's still plenty of stuff out there that isn't at all like that.

the genre's still got plenty of integrity.

Oh absolutely, the MTV stuff leaves a lot to be desired, BET which some of my friends watch shows the same videos every hour on every show. What I am saying and this is more cultural is that hip-hop today projects a life that is unrealistic for most Americans and I don't find anything attractive or interesting in the lyrics. Like all music there are good and bad, in general though I would never purchase a rap CD. Not to support that filth that is fed to blacks and other groups of people as well. I guess you have to keep it all in perspective. Its just music. Too bad some clueless fool in the streets thinks he can live the life of Jay Z cmon. Rappers know it is hype, a lot of consumers don't know or care.

whatever, there are not many trance producers out there with even half of the talent of the Neptunes and such. i'm no hiphopper but i have to recognize their talent.

Some rap is good, some is just terrible. I think it is so popular is bc people are not firmiliar with that lifestyle at all and it something new to them to hear about shootings and selling drugs. They are intrigued by it.

I am not aware of how many people on this board live in a working class black community, but if you did you would understand what I am saying. The majority are people who go about their lives on a daily basis and then there are a small number of others who think that television is reality in their actions. How many fake DMX or 50 is needed. I know there are EDM DJs that suck hence the term cheese and I wouldn't listen to most of their work as well and by the Way the Neptunes are smooth indeed no argument there, def. creative. That's the last on this topic for me. To each his own. Trance, Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal, Pop, whatever. Peace.
