yes, those timings work on some boards like ASUS, but what really happens (if u have an ASUS board), the BIOS automatically slows down the RAM to prevent crashing, so those timings are fake, not real.

what u really getting is 6-3-3-2-1T, and there were many articles confirming that.

Now if you have the low latency Crucial XMS LL, then those sticks are good, but the price is a rip off.

Best choice, Kingston HyperX (512 megs for 98$, 256 for 57$) where is Crucial is around 140$ for 2 LL sticks.

Hell no dude, Im a member on nForce boards for ages now, and they are pros they know alot more then you or me.
And my board runs at 4-2-2-2 and my bandwith is around 3500mbs, and 100% stable.
BTW, I bought my Corsair XMS DDR400 512MB from newegg for 90 bucks when they had sale.

well, maybe u just got lucky and got quality ram from Corsair, cause I tried 4 diff sticks and was disappointed.

With Kingston had no problems, built 3 high perf computers, just stick them in, people playing games 24/7 and running servers @ 333 Mhz 5-2-2-2-1T, stable as a rock, + the price is lower too

all right, i'm gonna order, but before i do, is that all i need or is there something else i'm forgetting. i have 2 hard drives + lan cars + etc. what about a heatsink + fan? do i have to buy the heatsink separately? fan recommendations? i need to be sure that it's compatible with the mobo/cpu and easy to install, i don't wanna screw it up.

EDIT: the cpu comes with a heatsink/fan, but do i really want the generic one?

Lan cars ?? wtf is that ??
If you want good cooling get an SLK800A .... one of the best HSF out there....also grab a SmartFan II.

The Asus A7N8X Deluxe comes with 2 on-board lans (both are excellent!).
The HSF, you get what you pay for .... so its up to you.

If it wasnt up to the job of keeping the cpu cool enough at stock speeds then amd wouldnt sell them in their retail cpu packs, if you plan to overclock get a monster heatsink!

@ThaDevil you got any proof of that 40mhz fsb? most of teh sites/chats with A7N8X dlx owners ive had found their mobos crap out after 210mhz, and past revisions of the abit may suck, but the latest version doesnt and I know now of people who have hit 250mhz fsb

Get the thermalright SK-7 Heatsink with a Smartfan 2, best bang-for-buck cooling system.

SK-7 is considerably cheaper than its SLK counterparts, but doesnt cool that much worse.

Ran Sisoft Sandra Burn-in maxed 20 times and my max cpu temp at stock (XP2400+ @ 2Ghz) was 40°C

I have got a great cooling setup in my case tho, all air, should do my Barton 2500 nicely when i get it
