It's too bad this thread has been more of a fight than a review.
Mark T, the apology is much appreciated. My response was an impulse to something I found offensive and hurtful. At any rate, this board is supposed to be positive and let's keep it that way.
Again I reiturate, we didn't find out about the events surrounding ours until the deposit for John was in and flyers were printed. Even if turning back was an option, it doesn't change the fact that the Guvernment packed the place the very next night after our party with a dj (as good as he may be) that people can see 3 times a week. I think that says a lot.
I guess we can attribute the flop to many things; beleive me, the past few days has left us wondering too. And Tara you make good points, there are a plethera of reasons why people didn't show. Yet at the same time, we had 100 paying customers to see John '00' Fleming... a man who has packed every Toronto venue he's played in. 100 people paying to go to our event not only leaves us scratching our heads, but let's face it guys, it doesn't leave us with alot of hope or desire to do it all over again once the hefty bill is paid. It's just not worth the time, money or heartache. We tried and it didn't happen I guess. We're not poitning fingers or putting on guilt trips, just chaque it up to it not being meant to be.
At any rate we're proud of what we've done. We threw a world class party on Friday night; it honestly would have been one of the best nights in Toronto in years if more people would have come out. We tried really hard to make it happen and provide people with an alternative to the norm and I don't regret it in the end. Thanks again to everyone who believed in us, it kept us going perhaps longer than we should have!
