You can go on and on and on about how great your fucking hero is but it still won't change my opinion about it. He is more like paul oakenfold everyday and it is NOT my fault if you cannot see it. I'll just wait till he completely crashes and burns then laugh in your face and say I told you so.

See it does not bother me that you like a deejay, it bothers me when people are so blind to see the reality of the situation.

there is no such thing as 'reality' of the situation. why do you talk about music as if it were a science? there is no truth, this is all subjective.

yes, i said he crashed and burned. but he came back stronger. tiesto is tiesto. oakenfold is oakenfold. people have been saying the same thing about tiesto ever since he became popular. tiesto and oakey have different styles that have mutually complemented each other from time to time. what's the big deal?

See you act like what I am saying is heresy. I'm completely free to state my opinion as I just did that I feel tiesto is more like oakenfold and will end up closely linked even more. You just walk around ta defending your hero and defending everyone against him.

To say Tiesto's music is "more mature and complex" than any other trance dj is a mightly bold statement. Is that a personal opinion?

Tiesto is as cookie cutter as the rest of the producers. He uses the same structure as everyone else... (intro-body-breakdown-build-climax-outro) what makes him so original?

that's my opinion because there are no facts in music, even if it is an opinion i can back up with my personal knowledge and appreciation. and when i say trance i'm limiting the statement to his brand of trance because I also think that other genres are way more mature and complex, even if they're not my thing. sorry i just thought it would be pointless to write IMO in every sentence.

edit: from my perspective he breaks the mold from within the structure more than any of the other dutch dj/producers. his buildups and breakdowns, his sonic landscape, his use of harmonic and melodic progression, and his rhythmic variations, his sharp use of timing and contrast on the decks is way more interesting for me than what Ferry and Armin et. al. do.

tta, i act like what you say is heresy because you make blank statements as if they were the TRUTH when there is no such thing. that is all.

I agree....the list is a joke....

Tiesto SHOULD NOT be number 1...maybe number 1 on the pop charts ..but not as a DJ....not when he is becoming as cheesy as Johan Gielen...soon Tiesto will be headlining Trance Energy aka Cheese Festival....

I also agree with TTA in EVERYTHING he said.

I'm absolutely cool with you loving Tiesto but I get a little skeptical when you make sweeping opinions on how he's outstanding and unique compared to others is all.

yeah that's true, i don't care and i bash them as well. if you were talking shit about DJ Marky, James Holden, Sasha or any other dj i cared about i would jump at you as well.

oh and i love pvd, seeing him live is the funnest thing ever because his sets are so well mixed and so energetic as well. his style of music is not my favorite and his productions even less. but that's just another issue.

oh yeah, i also hope he doesn't win even if i think he deserves it in my books. take him out of the poll for all i care, at least that will make a lot of people forget about him and stop the senseless bashing....
