I don't think his intent was to start another thread on purpose. Nor did I say you called him an asshole. I'm just saying that people tend to jump on valid opinions.

i definitely respect other peoples opinions, and nor did i call him an asshole or anything. it just frustrates me to no end when people judge songs that were once created by pop artists. i think those songs are the best-- seeing the transformation. then again, thats my opinion.

i just can't stand the anti-commercial ta's....its like, who cares if the song is good!!! i sweat the new britney song, and i'd prolly like it if it were celine dion singing too. im not a fan of jewel, but i love all the markus/g&d remixes of her.

just give things a chance people...

hah...commercial tunes can be good chick

example- Garbage-stupid girl(leama and moor remix)
Justin timberlake-cry me a river(bill hamel remix)
Avril Lavigne-Im with you(leama and moor remix)
all radiohead remixes
Madonna remixes(some)

I dont care if it wasnt commercial or if it was commercial/classical/jazz or wutever.
The fact of the matter was i stated i didnt like the tune because of the tune itself. So relax...and dont come to the conclusion that people like me will hate a tune because its commercial. I dont like it period....Do u care?...I hope not....but it seems like u do since ur jumping on me.

Anyways...thanks andy

Why did you say they were too commercial in your initial post then? That's the only reason I responded, because you gave off the whole "If it's not underground it's lame" vibe.

An opinion is an opinion, but referring to something you don't like because it's commercial isn't a real reason to me.

to clear the smoke...I stated commercial tunes remixed worthwhile to check out..so i dont understand why you all are still beating on a dead horse and whining about people trashing on commercial remixes...i clarified it several posts above and put some nice remixes of commercial tunes. I stated opinions of recent tunes that arent up to par to their older remixes. All professionals whether it be michael jordan or paul van dyk...or from beethoven to tony blair need critics...people cant be licking on their nuts 24 7

Their latest remix....me against the music is the last straw..I had the opportunity to hear it last night..(somewhere )...and was completely shocked to how far these guys have come.
Traveling from the depths of pure emotional euphoric dance to complete tasteless garbage...

sad to see these guys going into a downward spiral

not liking G&D's recent tunes is fine, everyone is entitled to an opinion. but saying they're in a "downward spiral" and calling them "tasteless garbage" isn't really valid because as far as G&D is concerned they're making quality shit. what do you expect them to do? only make tracks that YOU enjoy? should they call you up and have you approve of all their tracks? G&D don't produce music to fit the tastes of one person. not everyone is going to like every track, but that doesn't make them garbage.

anyways... i'm sure you didn't mean to be a shit disturber... but your 1st post came off a little harsh...

G&D are doing great work. Every remix the make is something special. Just because you don't like a couple doesn't mean there slipping or are that they've sold out

Show some respect!

i was about to start a thread like this as well :\ not about the britney remix but about g&d overall

as for my personal tastes the only tracks i like are summer calling (brilliant track, by far the best from them) and the remix of annie lennox. ATRC and andain - beautiful things i liked at first but then got bored of them.

there's one thing very worrying about their music. originally progressive was something like house + trance, it was very underground. now g&d and others are making a new style which is house + trance + pop. and whatever you might say, pop is always commercial.. so, at the end, they're bringing progressive to a more commercial audience. some might think that's good as it gets more people to listen to it, well i think that's a disaster. it's cheesyfing prorgessive. not saying that g&d are cheese, but they're moving that way.

about remixing commercial artists, of course it can result in a good track. i'm not gonna get into examples cause everybody knows them. but remixing like ten commercial artists in a row.. err.. isn't it a bit too much?

and it the end, it's all about tastes and opinions, but some people on here sound like 11 year olds. please keep your 'omg they're so good how can you not like them' to yourself
